At least twelve individuals lost their lives as a powerful storm swept through various regions of West Bengal. East Burdwan district bore the brunt of the storm, witnessing the highest casualties, with five fatalities reported. Additionally, two deaths each were recorded in West Midnapore and Purulia districts. Nadia district reported two fatalities due to wall collapse, while South 24 Parganas witnessed one casualty from a falling tree. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee conveyed this information through social media platforms, expressing condolences over the tragic loss of lives.

Meanwhile, amidst the grief over the storm-related fatalities, a change in weather brought relief to residents of Kolkata and several other districts from the scorching sun. The disaster management department reported six deaths, including a married couple, in various districts of South Bengal, including Nadia, Purulia, and East Burdwan.
